My rifleman r in a watch tower losing a fight to a unit thats not in cover company of heros 28/26/2023 I suggest just don't bother destroying the arrow tower w/ your siege artillery just focus on destroying the wall.Īttacking arrow towers and unit above the wall cause some LOS siege bugs in the game.Īlso try to divide your army into 2 fronts and attack 2 fronts of the walls. This is just an outright bug that makes ranged units/artillery just never shoot and walk directly towards whatever you tell them to shoot.ĭefinitely this is well known bug of the game. Originally posted by ♥Ashley♥:As i said, this isn't about positioning. As if they can never get in position and thus are trying to get closer. They don't even charge when they do, they just straight up walk into the direction they're told to attack. ![]() When you tell artillery or rattling guns to attack, they shouldn't chase into melee range. You shouldn't have to fiddle around with your units like that. I know about that, i'm just saying that it shouldn't be an issue to start with. Once it moved out of range, your missile troops acquire new targets. You give an attack order, they attack that unit. Use guard mode on all your missile units, that will stop the chasing. You were also complaining your units chase the enemies. You should position them better and Skaven missile units are mostly bad in sieges. ![]() I'm talking about them not shooting at all or charging to attack in melee at things like towers.Ĭatapults shouldn't be trying to melee attack walls when you click on towers. Missile units should still shoot when enemies are in range, same with catapults. I havent seen any mods that fix this, and since its been in the game for awhile its unlikely to be fixed any time soon. You can continually click on an enemy to fire, theyll move to re-position but simply wont shoot. Casket of Souls and Eagle Claw Bolt Throwers often wont shoot. ![]() I have personally experienced this bug even with artillery units. If you dont micromanage the hell out of them and adjust your front line with them in mind every time, they will go through entire battles and not even fire a single shot. Warpfire throwers being the biggest offenders. Even more so with specific "straight shot" kind of ranged units. I assumed they had no Line of Sight because enemy behind wall at a high angle. In sieges i have found plagueclaw catapults very effective as they lob stuff in an arc, but like you my ratling guns did not fire at all.
